How do I get started?

Here at Bluestone we offer a free 15 minute phone consultation where you can share what’s going on and we can share how we can help. Feel free to fill out the contact form or call 202-505-1454 to connect with us.

How does billing work?

For your convenience, a credit card will be kept on file to secure your session time and confirm your appointment. You will be automatically charged after each session through the Simple Practice website. Our paperless billing system allows easy processing of any major credit and/or debit card.  Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) may also be used for therapy expenses.

If our services are financially out of reach for you we will be happy to share with you a list of referral resources with those who offer a sliding scale or names of low-fee community agencies.

What if I suddenly can’t make a session and need to cancel?

Bluestone Counseling offers a 24 hour cancellation policy for both new and returning clients. If you miss your appointment or cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice you will be charged the full fee for the missed session. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment please email ali@bluestonecounselinggroup.com or call 202-505-1454.

Do you accept insurance?

Bluestone Counseling Group does not work with any insurance panels. However if you have a PPO with out of network coverage we are happy to provide you with a “Superbill” that you can submit for reimbursement. We have also partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits. Feel free to use the insurance benefits calculator to determine your reimbursement rates.

The amount of money you receive for reimbursement will depend on the insurance policy you have. Any reimbursement from your insurance company will go straight to you. Bluestone Counseling Group is not fiscally responsible should your insurance company be unable to reimburse you for your therapy costs.

Some questions you can ask your insurance company:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
