We are a private practice that provides supportive in-person and virtual therapy for individuals and families in Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia with a specialization in maternal wellbeing.

At Bluestone we begin with open-mindedness, insight, compassion and humor in order to support the trust needed within the therapeutic relationship. Our approach is trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, culturally-inclusive and welcomes and affirms all identities.

We work with clients experiencing a variety of challenges including: anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, work stress & burnout and trauma. We specialize in the spectrum of maternal wellbeing with fertility challenges, pregnancy and postpartum mental health, loss, trauma and the ups and downs of parenting.

We utilize traditional psychotherapy with a combination of other techniques to empower clients to recognize their innate ability to understand their strengths and support them in the positive change they are hoping to achieve. We are therapists and Moms who know what it’s like to be in therapy and need additional support. Through therapy our clients find that they are better able to manage the stress they are experiencing no matter where they are in their journey.

From Our Founder

Ali Weisbrot, LICSW, LCSW, LCSW-C

Welcome, I’m so glad that you are here. Life can feel overwhelming and stressful. Whatever your reason for finding us, you don’t have to take this journey alone. As women we often feel shame or guilt in our experiences with pregnancy, postpartum and parenting and here at Bluestone Counseling Group, we hope to create a safe space to be your authentic self and express all of the things that feel hard or scary to say. We offer virtual therapy as we know how busy life can be and how refreshing it is to find a sense of healing from the comfort of your home.

I founded Bluestone Counseling Group with the belief that we all need a village to thrive, and we hope that you will allow us to be a part of yours.

WHY BLUESTONE?

The Potomac Bluestone is deeply rooted in Washington DC and can be found in the quarries along Rock Creek and Little Falls, MD.

The bluestone rock has a connection to the natural elements surrounding the area we live in and it has been known to weather difficult environments and endure.  At Bluestone Counseling Group we know that with the challenges and stressors of life we can support you in recognizing your innate resilience and capacity to heal. We believe in the healing power of nature and the sense of grounding and attunement to our inner voice that comes when we are connected to our natural environment.
