Our Vision
At Bluestone Counseling we know that therapy is an investment of your time, energy and financial resources. As such we are fully committed to supporting you in your journey, to slow down and open yourself up to healing through mental health support.
We recognize that when one begins the journey into motherhood and parenting you are beginning a transformative, life-changing chapter. We recognize the need for hope, care, acknowledgement, support and validation at this stage in life. We know how challenging the journey to and through motherhood can be and we meet you wherever you are with curiosity, compassion, authenticity and understanding.
We are committed to welcoming and affirming all identities in a culturally-inclusive manner that recognizes intersectionality and the importance it holds within our human experience.
Anti-Racism Statement
At Bluestone Counseling Group we are committed to dismantling the systems of oppression that have historically marginalized communities of color, and created barriers to healing for those that have experienced systemic racism. We acknowledge that the field of mental health has both been inaccessible to communities of color, and that mental health professionals have historically committed grievous acts of harm against patients of color. We come into this space holding that truth, and with our commitment to healing both the individual and systemic pain that has been caused in the field of mental health. We work relentlessly to understand our own biases and complicities in a system of white supremacy, and we strive to unlearn and undo harm.
We will never get this right, because there is no right, but we will work endlessly with clients, families, and communities to move mental health care out of a space of pain, disconnect, and mistrust and into a space of healing, collaboration, and trust.
