Anna Jesseman

Psychotherapist
LICSW, LCSW, LCSW-C

I am a telehealth convert. Prior to 2020, I could never have imagined that connecting with a therapist online would be so effective. But as a working parent myself, I have personally come to not only value, but depend on the flexibility and accessibility that telehealth provides for my clients. I utilize a variety of therapy modalities with a solutions-focussed core in order to meet the needs of my clients. My style is relational and client-centered. I come from a strengths-based perspective and rely on the principles of third wave cognitive behavioral therapy and understanding the impact of our early family systems on our present.

I live in Washington DC with my husband, our three children, and our vocal dog that makes occasional guest appearances in session. I believe deeply in the healing power of sleep, relationships, nature, and movement, and work to incorporate all into my daily wellness routine.

MY FOCUS

I specialize in working with adults and teens experiencing depression, anxiety, major life adjustment or just coping with the struggles of daily life. I am trained in trauma-informed healing, perinatal mental health, schools/special education, and family systems. I am experienced in working with LGBTQ+ clients and practice Liberation Based Healing. I am also available to work with couples.

I am trained in anti racist theory and practice and am experienced in working with individuals on their path to understanding their identities and how intersectionality shows up in their present behaviors and perspectives.
